reflection on oral presentation

Our proposal was almost done, and what's left was just this oral presentation. We spilt the content into sections and prepared individually to start it off. afterwhich, when we collated the slides and tried practicing together.

During the first time we practiced together, we encountered various difficulties as we were not well-prepared and the slides were not perfected with animations. When we know that we were far from ready and the presentation date was near, we knew we had to step it up. We gave advices to make each other's presentation better and cohesive, and went back on our own to perfect it. We also practised the timing of the slides, so that the 'clicker' coincidences with the presenter to ensure a smooth presentation. We also reviewed what are the possible questions they might ask and prepared ourselves to answer those questions.

All in all, I think our group did very well in our presentation, and I felt it was very compelling with a powerful introduction and ending. Our content was very covered and our team was very well prepared to answer all the questions posted. I think one reason why we could handle the bombardments of  questions was they we were all very clear and convinced by our proposal, and because of that, it was easy for us stand on our proposal's side to defend it.

I really enjoyed working in this team, and I think we've worked really well together. Kudos to Team TRESS! (:

  1. Hi Seewan,

seeing your blog post reminded me of the hard work we have put in and it really brought great memories of us working together. You are the one Team TRESS!

After so much discussion and clarification of doubts, I believe we are even more convinced of our proposal and this really help us to defend any questions thrown to us! Especially comming from Zu Rong's attacks! Haha!

I really like the great team work and appreciate the advice from you. Most importantly, your jokes never fail to cheer up the team during the difficult times. This is the second modules we have worked together (coincidentally under the same tutor) and I hope we do keep in contact!

All the best in your exams, See wan!

  4. Hey See Wan!

I think your best point during the presentation was that you were very relaxed and natural, as opposed to giving a feel of just speaking from a memorised speech. Also, even though you were the last speaker and your team was running out of time, you did not panic and manage to pull off the last part of the presentation well. I think that really deserves a pat on the back!

I think the only suggestion I have is for the whole team, to concise the presentation a bit more. Maybe during Q&A the very relaxed personality need to be a bit more serious. I think that's all haha =)

All the best for your final examinations!

  5. Hey See Wann,

I liked how you handled the Q&A. You portrayed an image that you knew your stuff well and provided good responses to the questions posed.

I felt that the "implementation" and "feasibility" of our proposal were important aspects and in the face of the time constraint, you delivered them well!

Great job and I wish you all the best ahead! :)
